Enjoy our fun home town parade... or sign up to be in it!
Our Festival starts off with a bang with DHF's fun, home town parade at 11:00 am. And those coming to enjoy the day love to cheer our parade participants on!
Tim Aman retired after 30 years at Wilco Farmers as a Crop Consultant, and for the last five years has been the Field and Relations Director for Hazelnut Growers of Oregon. He is a Past President of the Nut Growers Society. Tim resides in Silverton with Debbie - his wonderful wife of 34 years. They have three children.
He and his two brothers, Tom and Kevin, own a 75-acre hazelnut farm in Mt. Angel and lease another 145 acres of orchards. The brothers operate a ‘tissue cultured’ hazelnut tree nursery and supply approximately 1000 acres per year of tree starts. They work closely with OSU breeding program and provide growers with the latest new varieties of hazelnuts.
If you or your group would like to participate, please complete and submit the Donald Hazelnut Festival Parade Packet. Our parade was fantastic last year, and this year’s will be even better!
You will need to arrive at the corners of Rees and Huckleberry Streets to be directed to check in promptly at 9:00 AM, but no later than 10:00 AM, to allow for staging. Late entries may not be allowed in the parade. Entrants are encouraged to label or otherwise sign their parade entries. Children are welcome with adult supervision. Please note: children under 16 years of age must wear bicycle helmets if they are operating a wheeled vehicle. Helmets are not necessary if walking their bicycles.
